I haven’t been home since January which means I have had a lot of shows to catch up on in the past few days
Unfortunately I am now caught up on GoT and I can say that while I no longer enjoy the books, I really hate the show. I’m not sure what happened but I really can’t stand it. Besides I already know what happens in the rest of the series. I do however approve of the guy playing Jaqen H’ghar and his hair. Which is basically awesome.
On the other hand we have The Borgias with Francois Arnaud AND Jeremy Irons. I’m actually interested in the plot line, the costumes are beautiful (I also took classes from the man who makes Lucrezia’s gowns), and I love the characters.
Also, there is no Red Wedding that I’m going to have to eventually come to terms with.Even though Augustus Prew met an unfortunate end, I still love the show.To go against Jaqen H’ghar’s awesome wicked cool,

And that, Lords and Ladies, is a terribly hard choice. This is most likely the weirdest question I have ever asked on the Ornamented Being, but in the category of better hair: Who wins?

Did anyone else notice that Bessie Blount popped over from the Tudors and is hanging out with the Borgias?
Also, I have a nagging suspicion that Lucrezia’s hubby won’t be around for long!

Just watched The Borgias.
Not kidding you may now call me obsessed.
Augustus Prew (moonacre!!) and Francois Arnaud (gorgeous) are just brilliant and Lord, Holliday Grainger is the most ethereal thing.
I’m so in love with this series and the costumes are done rather well. But then again it’s pretty hard to mess up the Renaissance for the women. I was pleased to note the women were wearing proper gamurra* for that time and even the hairstyles and ornamentation is correct! Knucks for showtime!
The Men ehhh not so good. The papal robes are lovely and you would have to really struggle to bum those up but I did spy a few doublets that aren’t quite Renaissance. Buuuut I forgive you!
I have to say Gabriella Pescucci (the costume designer) gets four thumbs way up in my book!
Overall, I can overlook the few costume mishaps because I’m literally head over heels in love with Lucrezia’s costumes and I’m hanging onto her every slashed sleeve!!
*A gamurra (or camora), a gown worn as the middle of three garments (over the camicia, or chemise and under the cioppa or giornea <—-these are types of overdresses)
