Couldn’t decide which view from which window to show you so I thought I would show you them both!
When I was angry with my white work I looked up and felt much better! Then looked back down and the good feeling was gone.
Guys I’ve decided I want a Georgian Apartment! This is my view from the Royal School of Needlework classroom in Hampton Court. We are in the Private Residences above Lady Peak :-)
This is what I look out at when I am at my embroidery at the Royal School of Needlework.
Hampton Court Palace is my weekend retreat. There is something in the air at this palace that settles over you, almost like a soothing balm to the weariness that is living in London. The palace seems to be frozen in time. When I am here I forget everything going on outside and immerse myself in the now.
Nothing compares to the smell of earl grey drifting through the air or the minute birdsong that fills each corner of the room. The breeze that floats through the windows often upsetting papers to the amused vexation of our lecturers. The pitter-patter of the rain as it hits the lake, the wind catching in the trees or the sound of the swans in the distance.
But my most cherished sound is that of my needle pushing through the fabric, back and forth, accompanied by the steady crunch of gravel underneath the feet of tourist who tread the footpaths of history under our open window.
My view as I sit in the window working on my embroidery at the Royal School of Needlework. Hampton Court Palace really is one of my favourite places to go to escape the bustle of London. Time stops here.
I’m the King who brought back partying!
This is so bloody brilliant.
…….I love it.
This is the map RSN sent me to make sure I know where to go for my class tomorrow and the following sunday and then the other 3 after that
I don’t know I’m just amused by the map. I find it surreal that I am taking lessons at Henry VIII’s Hampton Court.
I figured out my travel times though! I need to get up at 6:30, leave my room by 7:30 and be at HCP at 9:45 standing outside the gates.
I hope the ghost of Henry isn’t there!
I promise I won’t freak out but HOMG I AM GOING TO A LECTURE BY PHILIPPA GREGORY AT HAMPTON COURT PALACE!!!
This is where my tambour beading class is.
Is this not the coolest map ever?
Let’s hope the ghosts of Henry and his wives don’t interrupt our lessons!
Look. If Hampton Court can get it right, Other Boleyn Girl why can’t you?
Photo belongs to a friend. This is Jane Seymour talking about getting married with a little girl. :D
