Gong xi fa cai to those of us who celebrate the Chinese New Year! I miss SIngapore terribly this time each year.
2012 is the year of the Water Dragon and being an Aquarius I am taking that to mean this will be a very auspicious year for me! Let’s all do our best to reach our full potential!
I hope you are all warm, safe and enjoying the moon tonight. This season always makes me long for mooncakes and Singapore.
Anyway silliness aside I am currently sitting on my terrace nursing a cup of darjeeling and I just had to share what I am looking at with you all! The harvest moon is rising above the Palace and is so bright the reflection has lit up the Thames. Combine that with the TWELVE flocks (I kid you not I stood here baffled and counted them after the first four circled back to land) of Canadian geese that just landed in the Thames (and are currently honking and flapping about noisily) can only mean that our summer days are drawing to an end. Which also means I’m going to have to break out my SAD sun lamp!

What country are all of my followers from?
I’ll start off with me. I was born in the States, (southern girl), lived in Singapore and I currently reside in London.
Edit: You guys continue to surprise me with your general awesomeness!!!
I had a few messages waiting for me when I got back from millinery today asking me about my university and since I’ve received a few of these messages in the past few days I thought I would answer them publicly instead of writing back to everyone individually like I normally do.
(If you don’t receive a message back from me it’s because you don’t have an ask button!!)
I’m 21. Born in the states but I lived out the best years of my life in Singapore. I now live in London and study Costume Interpretation so my obsession is kind of par for the course! Often what I post on my tumblr coincides with what’s going on in University (or I wanted to know something, was interested in something or just felt like spamming you all with pretty things!)
Ornamented Being was actually the offspring of one of my projects. Last year we were told to start in the Ancient Near East and end with the fashion in 2011. When it became apparent to me that there would never be a way to fit everything I found interesting in my research book I turned to Tumblr to act as an online scrapbook. That way I can keep everything together and thrust my love of costume upon the masses!
I hope that explains a little more about why my blog is full of extant costumes, media costuming or horribly BAD media costuming (Not to mention any names but Joan Bergin you know who you are.) history, random bits of furniture and my projects.
I hope you continue to enjoy and if you do have questions or requests (which right now would be very welcome because the only thing on my mind is bonnet, bonnet, bonnet, bonnet) drop me a line!

Oh! That’s me!!! :D
It was taken in Singapore. I styled the shoot and Romeo M. Angeles was the genius behind the lens!

To the ones I love in London, to the friends I left in Singapore and the ones I’ll always cherish in the States. Happy New Year to all those dear to my heart!
