“… with girlfriend Lisa Marie” *snickers*
Also via Costumer’s Guide: “The Lady Crane floating dress and blindfold used in the Tim Burton gothic classic Sleepy Hollow. This beautiful cobalt blue 2 piece costume was worn by Lisa Marie in the dream sequences of the movie including the memorable scene when she spins around and around and lifts up into the air. The outfit comes complete with the lace blindfold and can clearly be seen in the movie as Johnny Depp dreams about the tragic life of his mother.”
Description from propstore.co.uk: The costume worn by Miranda Richardson as the old crone in the Tim Burton gothic classic Sleepy Hollow. This impressive looking costume was worn by the actress as “The Western Woods Crone” in the movie. She can be seen wearing it in the scene where Johnny Depp’s character Ichabod Crane and Young Masbath go to visit the Crone in her cave deep in the woods. The costume consists of a long skirt with several layers of pale coloured skirts made from different fabrics, which have been distressed to look dirty and old with tears and rips. A pink coloured bodice which has been covered with matching distressed fabric and laces up at the back, two lengths of shimmery netting which the Crone has draped over her head and a small pendant made from gold coloured metal with red enamel and faux emerald decoration in the centre, which is the same design as the one worn by Christina Ricci’s character and hangs from a length of cord. No sizes marked.
It reminds me of the dress worn by the Corpse Bride

Life isn’t easy for the Pin Cushion Queen, when she sits on her throne pins push through her spleen.
I love this quote from her blog:
it’s a line from one of the short stories
in Tim Burton’s The Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy.

From Adorable Alice to Plain Jane
“If you don’t feel confident enough to play a Queen, what about one of the royal court, like these quirky Hatter women costumes from Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland.”
WOHOOOO!!! YOU GO COLLEEN!!!!
Alice In Wonderland wins Costume Design award for its wacky Tim Burton-esque other worldy visions, by American designer Colleen Atwood. She pays tribute to director Burton on stage, just about managing to hold back tears. Alice also won Best Costume and Hair.
This is without a doubt one of the funniest images I’ve ever had pop in my head:
“On the first day on the set of Big Fish, Tim chatted at length with his leading man Ewan McGregor but blanked his own wife. When he later told her it was because he didn’t want to be seen ‘playing favourites’, Helena said: ‘I really don’t think Ewan would mind you preferring me to him.’
Then, of course, it can swing the other way. On Sweeney Todd, they bickered so much that apparently Depp used to have to pretend to be deeply interested in his prop razors while the two of them barked at each other.”
