The Ornamented Being

Actually shewasnotalone has brought up an amazing question “What did women put in their purses?”

Here is what I found: “Handbags were not fashionable in the era, but small decorative delicate bags with a dainty strap that hung from the wrist were sometimes used. Ladies carried little money as goods were charged to accounts and only minimal make up was usual so none was carried.”

This is from 1901 and it’s QUITE different from what we carry today. I think you would have to agree that this is most definitely used for decoration only.

there is a person. on this bag. hannah wants little figures of people on all of her bags. then she will name them and make them talk to each other.
