Meh. It’s just one of those days.
Song of the Wave by Khalil Gibran
… I quench his thirst and submerge his
Heart; he softens my voice and subdues
My temper.
At dawn I recite the rules of love upon
His ears, and he embraces me longingly…
Trees cocooned in spiders webs after flooding in Pakistan, 7 December 2010 - Russell Watkins
‘An unexpected side-effect of the 2010 flooding in parts of Sindh, Pakistan, was that millions of spiders climbed up into the trees to escape the rising flood waters; because of the scale of the flooding and the fact that the water took so long to recede, many trees became cocooned in spiders webs. People in the area had never seen this phenomenon before, but they also reported that there were less mosquitos than they would have expected, given the amount of standing water that was left. Not being bitten by mosquitos was one small blessing for people that had lost everything in the floods’
This is the stuff that nightmares are made of. Spiders trees!!!! *shudder*
One of my fondest memories was the time my parents surprised my brother and me by taking us up North for Fall Break. We stayed at a place called the Seagull Inn in Marblehead, Massachusetts.
I would wake up every morning and run down to the beach to see what treasures the ocean would give up that day. I found all sorts of orphan blue and white porcelain shards after a particularly bad storm where the waves pounded against the beach all night.
My favorite was always hunting for the tiny specks of cerulean and pale virescent sea glass hidden amongst the suede and khaki coloured stones.
Sea glass is one of my favorite things in the world. One day I want to live near the coast but until then I have to find friends in distant places who live there.
In McQueen’s Words “My friend George and I were walking on the beach in Norfolk, and there were thousands of [razor-clam] shells. They were so beautiful, I thought I had to do something with them. So, we decided to make [a dress] out of them… . The shells had outlived their usefulness on the beach, so we put them to another use on a dress. Then Erin [O’Conner] came out and trashed the dress, so their usefulness was over once again. Kind of like fashion, really.”

” … Your tail will then disappear, and shrink up into what mankind calls legs, and you will feel great pain, as if a sword were passing through you.”
Hans Christian Anderson, The Little Mermaid
Starred forget-me-nots smile sweetly
Ring, bluebells, ring!
Winning eye and heart completely,
Sing, robin, sing!
All among the reeds and rushes
Where the brook its music hushes
Bright the caloposon blushes
Laugh, O murmuring Spring!

If a man could pass through Paradise in a dream, and have a flower presented to him as a pledge that his soul had really been there, and if he found that flower in his hand when he awake - Aye, what then?
Samuel Taylor Coleridge
